Wow. I seriously fell off the bandwagon.

So I have been pretty lucky.
I haven't posted since April 11th, and to be perfectly honest...my eating has been horrible.

Although, I'm very lucky considering I've only gained 1.8lbs. Oh man.

So today, I've already had an unhealthy breakfast :Bacon, egg, and cheese on an english muffin.

However, I may go running outside today. My community is a little over a mile around, but with hills and stuff so it works.

Plus, it's a little rainy but perfect weather for my running...not too hot, not too cold.

It's quarter to 9 and I'm listening to Apache by the Sugar Hill Gang..haha. I love that song.

Anyway, not to make this an excuse, but I've been pretty preoccupied the past few weeks.
My grandpa had to have surgery, which included having parts of his spine removed and fusing some vertebrae together.

Also, finals are coming up next wednesday (May 13), so I've been bogged down finishing all of my work for Journalism, which I did.
I'm currently studying for my math final and Spanish test next week. Not to mention working on a presentation with a classmate due next Wednesday as well.

So life has been pretty hectic.
Anyway, I have to go, I have a tanning appointment.

OH, and I learned today that every cup of coffee you drink reduces your risk of skin cancer by 5%.

Explanation as to how, later.

Quick post. 80's night tonight.

Quick post.

Today, I ate breakfast and I'm getting ready to go burn some calories.
I want to work out early today so I can give my body some time to rest then get ready for 80's night tonight.

I made blue berry pancakes for breakfast...ugh they were so good. I only had 2 small ones though so that was about 170 calories. =)..and then I ruined it with two slices of bacon...lol which actually was only about 100 calories.
so...

Breakfast:
Blueberry Pancakes: 170 calories
Bacon: 100 calories
Milk: 65 calories

Lunch:
Leftover pizza: like 400 ugh.

Dinner: TBD

Total so far: 735

Exercise:
Elliptical for 40 minutes (I'm going to try): 515 calories burned
Sit-ups 15 minutes: 172 calories burned
Squats and other leg exercises 20 minutes: 180 calories burned
Weightlifting 15 minutes: 129 calories burned.

Total: 996 calories burned...woohoo!

I'm going to get going so I can get started so I have more time to rest and relax before I need to get ready for 80's night tonight. =)

I probably won't post tomorrow because of the holiday, or if I do, it will be around 7 pm est.

Anyway, just in case I don't post tomorrow, Have a very Happy Easter!

Nutshell.

Paul and I didn't really have a huge argument last night.

But we did have a "discussion". Pretty much because 80's night is tomorrow, and since one of my friends got completely trashed and had to be taken home by like the entire group of us (excluding me), I was left at the table by myself for a good 15 minutes, while Paul stayed behind the dj booth..so I will a little annoyed, and ever since my friend brought up 80's night Paul had been acting..distant.

So it was like, Okay what did I do now?
So I guess my feelings just kept building up, and I needed to get out what I was feeling, and that I felt like it was my fault because Paul didn't want to go, but I did...to hang out with him.

So needless to say, I was crying...and I felt like it was a bigger issue than it was, because my feelings were ultimately hurt that Paul thought that I couldn't hold my liquor and that was why we "had" to leave early...when really it was because I was tired of sitting there by myself...so of course I wanted to leave.

Anyway, on a much brighter note..I ended up losing 5lbs...within 24 hours...I'm not really sure why, but the night before last I did a really big weightlifting workout, so I was probably retaining water in my muscles.

I went from 190 (bad eating day) to 189 yesterday, then dropped to 184 today.
6lbs away from the top of my "normal weight range".

Also, today's plans:

Going to walmart to get a new ink cartridge for the printer.
Going tanning with my friend Heather.
Coming home. Finishing any Homework due for Monday.

Saturday:
Paul has a meeting at 1
80's night tomorrow night.

Sunday:
Easter:
Mass at 11
Dinner at his parents house.

My calories for today:

Breakfast:
Scrambled eggs made with mozzarella cheese
Toast
2 Kiwis
Orange Juice:418 calories.

Lunch:
Greek Salad:
Green Spinach leaves
Grape Tomatoes
Feta cheese (crumbled)
Extra virgin olive oil
Balsalmic Vinegarette
RedWine Vinegarette: 295 calories (Yummy!)

S2:

Dinner: Costco cheese pizza: ugh, its like 400 calories for 1 slice.

Total: 1,113 calories. Not too bad though.

I'll probably work out again, doing the elliptical for 20 minutes, arm exercises, leg exercises, ab exercises.
I'll update later.

Have a happy Good Friday.

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Today is not a good day.

Please pray for me.

-1.8 lbs.

But that's not the problem.

Explanation later.

Saturday, April 4, 2009

Woo. I broke the plateau.

So I don't know if it could be considered a plateau because I think I was working out to maintain my 188 lbs.

Anyway, last night I did the elliptical, did some leg exercises (calves, inner thighs, and outer thighs), did some free weights for my lower arms, upper arms, and the backs of my arms...and I did some ab exercises.

I kicked my ass.

And it paid off! I weighed in at 187.2! Technically, I am only 8 lbs away from the top of my "normal range" woohoo!

So I have been tanning this week..Only 2 times, No big deal.

I just hate being super pale...like the shade of white out..haha.

Also, I'm getting a haircut today. Right now my hair is almost to the middle of my back...and I'm getting it cut off!

I'm getting my hair cut to about shoulder length. And I am eventually going to get highlights.

Just not today, because I'll get charged 80 bucks for my full head of hair, because they cut it AFTER they dye it.

So I beat the system..lol.

Paul is working tonight from 4-7, not too far away from home, so that's exciting.

I'm spending the day with my parents today though.
I'm probably going to work out today too, do another session of ass kicking. =)
Tomorrow too...seeing as how it is supposed to be gorgeous out tomorrow...and I feel more upbeat about working out when it's sunny rather than cold and windy and gross.

So, I'm not really sure about what I'm doing about dinner and whatnot, so I will post the calorie intake later, or tomorrow morning before church.

Although, last night I burned:

15 minutes of ab workout: 75 calories burned
15 minutes of weight lifting: 64 calories burned
15 minutes of leg workouts: 128 calories burned
20 minutes of elliptical: 255 calories burned

Total time: 1 hour and 5 minutes

Total calories burned: 522 calories burned.

Have a great weekend!

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Lowe's didn't work out.

Oh well.

I already put in a couple applications today.
Also, I feel kind of down and haven't worked out except playing frisbee with this cool light up frisbee with my sister for at least an hour.

Paul is working tonight at a Bridal Show. I hate the Bridal Shows during the week...He has another one tomorrow.

Although I'm making myself pretty busy tomorrow anyway. I go to school, come home, work out, shower, then head off to an RCIA class at the church...just to introduce myself.

Then I'll be home around 9, so we'll see how that goes...Anyway, my eating was pretty good today as far as calories.

I only had 1 soda today.

Breakfast:
Bagel with ICBINB: 370 calories
1 c of Dole: Pineapple, Orange, Banana Juice: 130 calories

No snack

Lunch: Turkey Sandwich:
Turkey: 60 cal
Provolone: 60 cal
Light Mayo: 45 cal
White bread: 80 cal

Snack: String Cheese: 45 cal

Dinner: Cheese Pizza: 350 cal

Total: 1,140 calories

Exercise: 1.5 hours of Frisbee..lol: 385 calories burned.

Monday, March 30, 2009

Okay.

So I did exactly what I said I was going to do the other night when I posted.

I got up, went to church, came home, worked out..I actually managed to stay on the elliptical for 20 minutes..It was pretty awesome.
Then I did some upper body work..Not quite an hour..but it was a good workout.

Today.

Here is my calorie count:

Breakfast:
Bagel with ICBINB: About 370 calories

S1: Craisins: 100 calorie pack

S2: Prunes: 75 calories

Lunch: Chicken and Mashed potatoes: 427

Dinner: Caesar Salad: 159 calories

Total: 1,131 calories..not too bad.

On top of it..Another 20 minutes on the elliptical: 256 calories burned
20 minutes of weightlifting: 85 calories.

Total burned: 341...I'll be working my way back up to where I was...lol.

Also, as far as the job at Lowes...I called and the HR woman actually stepped out for the rest of the day. Needless to say, I shall be calling tomorrow morning...just to see if there are still any openings and whatnot.

Anyway, have a happy Monday.

Saturday, March 28, 2009

I'm thinking its a good time to start over.

Okay...so I was disgustingly hungry today..and had 3 donuts.

I felt so gross.

I think that since I have been sick and my allergies have kicked up, tomorrow is my last day of medication...so tomorrow is going to be my "do-over".

I am going to get up, go to church, come home, work out for at least an hour, and start over with my eating habits.

I've been kind of slack in that department, and I don't want to ruin all of my hard work.

Anyway. I'm not counting calories today..I'm afraid to.

I want to be healthy again...and I am going to be healthy again.

So...time for some serious ass-kicking. My own.

Friday, March 27, 2009

Ugh...Aunt Flo left me a 1.8lb present.

Yeah. I gained 1.8 lbs.

Figured because I felt like such a "heffer" lol..for eating so much.

Anyway, I will definitely be working that off...and then some...=)

I have a few updates:

Job: Monday I am going to call Lowe's just to let them know I am still, in fact breathing, and really wanting the job.

Cellphone: I know I didn't really bring this up at all..but my phone has been acting...slow. So since Paul and I have different services (I have Sprint, he has T-Mobile) we decided to merge and purchase a Verizon family plan.
If I get the job at Lowes, I told Paul I would pay for the first bill, then we would go from there...so we'll see.

Eating:
I haven't really eaten much today...Not by any means because I gained a pound, but because I haven't been hungry...

I didn't eat breakfast, but had an early lunch.

So:

Breakfast: N/A

Snack 1/Lunch: Chili: 300 calories

Snack 2: Granola Bar: 100 calories

Dinner: TBD

I may be going to a friend's house because Paul is doing a bridal show tonight from 7-11. I will hang out with her until he gets back or whatever, because he has to drop off the equipment there in order to leave anyway.

I also got a lot of cute clothes to go out in. We went to Charlotte Russe in the mall, and I got this really cute tealish colored tank top with a belt, and I got matching shoes.

Also, Heather gave me a couple shirts that she doesn't every wear...One was a green tank top, and the other was a vest from Deb's...which usually I get Larges or XL in Deb's shirts...but the vest was a Medium..and it fits!
How awesome is that?

I was really excited...and I can't wait to lost more weight, the more I will lose the better my clothes with definitely fit. =)

Anyway, off to watch some television before Paul and I have to leave!

Have a great Friday!

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Let's make this quick..

So I feel pretty good today.
Aunt Flo is on her way out the door, so the bloating has subsided and I am feeling much better.

I got up at 6:30 and stayed up because I felt that good..lol....and that refreshed..haha.

Sadly, I haven't heard back from Lowe's about the job...And my "interview" was a week ago. Ugh.
I really need a job.

Anyway.

I am going shopping with my friend Heather today, we are getting some "going out" clothes...
It's funny because I will wear the pants or jeans that I plan on going out in, just so I know how the top or whatever looks with the pants...lol.

So. Let's get to it.

Breakfast:
Coffee, 1/2 bagel, 1 string cheese: 227 calories

S1: TBD

Lunch: PB&J sandwich: 193 calories

S2: TBD

Dinner: TBD

Anyway, I will edit this thing later...
Have a great Thursday!

Getting ready to cook some porkchops!

Okay, I am going to make this quick.

oooOOOooOOh...lol.

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Oh man.

So I have to be perfectly honest with you guys, I feel like I have been a little lax in the exercise department...I've done a lot of normal stuff that requires me to be on my feet and moving around...like serious cleaning...or grocery shopping...the usual stuff.

As far as going on the elliptical..I haven't really done it in a while.
I need to get back on track this week. Spring Break will be over, so I will be getting back into the swing of things.

Also, I went for the "interview" on thursday, it turned out that I ended up doing a second half of an application, and they said I would get a call next week...So I will be waiting for that.

I feel like my break went so fast. It is horrible.

And, to put the icing on the cake to my Spring Break, Aunt Flow decided to pay me a visit last night...so I have all of the first day of the period issues...Bloating..Headache..Cramps...it is horrible.

So I wasn't necessarily calorie counting today because I knew it wasn't going to be pretty.
Tomorrow is a new day..and the start to a new week.

Paul works late tonight. I hate it when he works late..being a DJ..he won't get home tonight until 2 a.m....at least.

He also works tomorrow..it's a bridal show..but still. It's my last day of spring break....Ugh...

Monday I go back to school...which I am seriously hating right now...I always get this way...last spring and this one...it's like an anxious child going through "Senioritis" as we called it in High School...Where time is ticking down until the last week of school...and it's like you wake up for school and you can think of so many things that are so much more important.

Especially when the weather will get nicer...it's bad for me. I dread going to school knowing that I will be stuck in a classroom while people are out and about on 80 degree days.
It sucks.

Anyway, I just wanted to make an update. I also don't plan on touching a scale this week. Not until Aunt Flow leaves.

Have a happy weekend.

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!

I hope you all remembered to wear green to avoid those who still feel it is necessary to pinch others. Haha.

I know I haven't updated since Friday. Shame on me.

I am still around 188, so I guess that's good.

Paul has been sick, so I have been taking care of him (as he did of me).
Also, I feel like I have been eating like a piggy! I guess the scale held that my eating wasn't AS bad as I thought.

So, this is going to be a pretty busy week for me!
I have so much to fill you guys in on...

Yesterday was pretty uneventful for a monday. I actually spent most of my day cleaning! I was on my feet (or hands and knees scrubbing the bathroom floor) for like 4 hours...It was crazy.
I cleaned the kitchen (took everything off of the counters, bleached them. I wiped the stuff down, I dusted and windexed everything!) Web MD says General Cleaning for 4 hours burns 1,031 calories...How crazy is that?!?

Today was pretty eventful actually. Well, I got up with the intentions of cleaning the upstairs today...but I slept in sooo late.
Paul actually woke me up at like 10:30..and we relaxed all morning.
Around 2 I got ready and went to visit an old teacher that I had in High School. I had her for Health Occupations...It was a vo-tech class that I took for 3 years...she didn't have kids of her own so I was pretty much her adopted daughter...so I went to visit her (since I haven't seen her since the engagement) and show her the rings and my wedding plans so far.

Anyway, we caught up and it was really nice.

After speaking with her for a little over an hour, I went to Walmart to pick up a few things for Paul, and then came back home..where we ate outside on the balcony because it was like 70 degrees outside and it was beautiful!

Also, I have an interview with Lowe's on Thursday at 11! I am so excited...It's only a seasonal job (I would start on April 11th and end July 6th) but it's a start...and they may decide to keep me through the fall..who knows?

So that's my most exciting news...

Tomorrow, Paul and I are going hiking through Dingmans Falls...with a high of 61..woo hoo!!

Anyway, today's numbers:
I actually didn't eat as much...so I had some post-dinner calories..lol...You'll see.

Breakfast:
Bagel with Cream Cheese: 320 calories

Lunch:
I didn't eat lunch...I know..horrible me..but I had a really late breakfast...so I just wasn't all that hungry.

Dinner:
Costco Cheese Pizza: 384 calories

Snack 1:
Tostitio's: 140 calories

Snack 2: (my ugh snack): I had a SMALL portion of left over cheese fries from Outback Steakhouse (my parents went and brought me home cheesefries because I love them!..I had a small portion then left the rest to my brother): 207 calories...not so bad compared to the 2900 that the entire thing is...ugh.

Total: 1051...Not bad at all. =)

Tomorrow, if I don't post..I will probably have:

Breakfast:
Multi-grain Cheerios with 2% milk: 175 calories

Snack 1:
Nutrigrain Bar: 130

Lunch:
PB & J (possibly): 288 calories
Pear: 81
Possibly a Clementine: 35 calories

Snack 2:
Nutrigrain Bar: 130 calories

Dinner:
Garlic and Olive Oil with Vermicelli: 350 calories

Total: 1189..Good Good.

Exercise: Hiking (takes about 4 hours to get through the falls): 2,062 calories burned. Woohoo!
Yoga (45 min): 161 calories burned

Total Burned: 2,223 calories...=)

Anyway, time for bed...=) I have a busy day tomorrow.

Friday, March 13, 2009

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Now that I have some time to breathe..

I finished my medication this morning for my sickness.
I still feel a little congested, but it is definitely MUCH better than it was.

Anyway...I need to weigh myself.
I was at 188 when I last weighed myself the other day (yesterday maybe)...but I just ate breakfast so that may damper it a little bit.

Actually I am going to go quickly weigh myself anyway...just for the general idea...189..so breakfast probably tripped the scale..lol.

Anyway, I will start watching my calories again today...

Breakfast:
Multi-Grain Cheerios and 1/2 of Milk: 175 calories

Snack 1:
Nutrigrain Bar Blueberry: 130 calories

Lunch:
6" Subway Turkey Sub: 279 calories

Snack 2:

Corn: 83 calories
Maybe some mixed veggies or green beans: 60 calories at most

Total: 1,157 calories...that's better. =)

Exercise: Since I am still feeling a little worn out..I may do about 10 minutes on the elliptical, maybe 10 more on the bicycle thing...and the rest of the time doing yoga and maybe a little weight lifting..It will really depend on how much my body can handle.

Anyway, on a note that doesn't really touch on being in shape...I think I may have gotten a new job..Which is much needed.

It isn't something big...I put in an application at Lowes hardware store, next to my college. I actually got a call back the next day..but I didn't hear my phone go off at all, so by the time I called back, the lady had left for the day.

But I called today and she doesn't work today, so I left my name and number so that way she knows I did call back and I definitely AM interested in the job.
Hopefully I get a call for an interview tomorrow.
I am actually really excited, because I am now on my Spring Break, and I could possibly be making some money =).

Hopefully this all works out. =)

I better get going though, I have a lot to do today.
Have a great day everyone!

Sunday, March 8, 2009

I am feeling much better today.

So after taking the medication (its 1 pill twice a day for 7 days) since Wednesday I am definitely feeling much better. Yesterday was the first day that my throat was not hurting at all..and today is the second.

However, I still have some congestion like it is trying to leave me with a head cold.
I know that I was going to try and work out every day for Lent, but like I had said, if my body is exhausted I will let it rest...
That's what I have been doing..
And my mom told me something very important, she told me that when I am good enough to start working out again, I need to work my way back up to doing the elliptical for 40 minutes and whatnot...so just do the elliptical for 10 then some yoga and whatnot, until I am back where I was.

The plus-side is that I have been watching what I am eating but still eating healthy and losing weight based on that alone.

It's nice. =)

So I am hoping to be back on the bandwagon by wednesday, thursday at the latest. =)

That's it for now.

Friday, March 6, 2009

Wow. I am so sorry I haven't posted!

So here is the scoop on my not posting the past like 3 days.

Tuesday, I had my journalism class..which I believe I posted, actually.
I did the workout I said I was going to do, but I had this weird twinge in my throat.
I kept drinking water thinking that it was just a serious case of cotton-mouth..which I get when Paul turns on the fan while we are working out. (I leave it off...he likes it on..go figure)

So I just kept drinking water to stay hydrated.
I showered, and got myself ready for bed no problem, but I felt so tired by 9 that I passed out by 9:30...which is very unusual for me.

I wake up around 11:30 with some serious chills. It was horrible, I had on flannel pajama pants, Paul's snowboarding thermal socks, 3 shirts on, a hoodie on top of it, and was wrapped up in three blankets...and still couldn't get warm.
So I woke Paul up and told him that I think I needed to make a doctor's appointment for the next day because I felt like I had been hit by a truck and my throat was on fire.

I drank tea, took some motrin with milk (so it wouldn't give me a tummy ache later), and curled back up with Paul (who is like a human heater) and tried to sleep.

The next morning (Wednesday), I wake up still with chills, sore throat, headache...I felt like death..it was horrible.
I got up to go to the bathroom and Paul said fairly bluntly: You look like shit.
Don't you love it when your fi's and dh's are so open with you?

I got back into bed and stayed there 90% of the day...the rest was made up of peeing.
I don't think I have peed so much in my life...granted, I was mainly eating soups and drinking gatorade, water, and tea..but still.

Around 10 I took my temp and it was 100.7...time for Motrin again to bring it down...so I popped in some motrin, talked to my mom, and she wanted to check in on me later.
So, she said not to take any more motrin for the rest of the day so we could see how serious this was.

By 1 I passed out again...woke up around 3:30 sweating...
When my mom came in around 9 that night she cleaned up a little bit (I had tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner...the dog had half the grilled cheese and I ate about 1/4 of the soup), my fever was up to 102.8

Needless to say at 9 a.m yesterday when the Dr's office opened, I called to get an appointment. I made one for 11:15..but didn't get to see the doctor until 12:35pm...yeah, they were THAT busy.

So I go in, and the doctor was asking the typical questions (because I haven't seen him since October of 07...I was sick in October of 08, but he called in the prescription)...and checked my sinues, ears, nose, and throat...which he kinda gave a grossed out face..which is understandable.

He said that it's all in my throat..and I have Strep Throat...which I haven't had in like 5 years...and Yeah, I still have my tonsils...They were going to take them out when I was little, but they were afraid (since I have thin blood) that I could POSSIBLY bleed to death...so that was that.

So he prescribed me Augmentin...which the liquid made me sick as a child, but the pills are easy.

I do feel better. I had a fever last night, but I took my first pill last night...and so far I'm just coughing out the infection...tmi possibly..sorry.

I have to take 1 pill twice a day for a week.
I'm hoping I am okay by Monday...I really need to go back to school...

Anyway, I am feeling a little bit better, my throat is still sore but tolerable.

The past few days I haven't really been calorie counting...I probably won't be today either.
I can't really eat all that much, it's really just been popcicles and other liquids.

So, there is my update...

Also, Irene, I saw that you commented on my last post about my dress...I know the type of design that I want, but I haven't bought any dresses yet, because I still have a year and a half before the wedding, so I don't want to buy a dress that may be too big on me by the time my wedding comes...
I know that it can be taken in, but I would rather wait a little while longer, that way it would be a little more accurate.

Anyway, time to finish my oatmeal and take my medicine...then time to relax.

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Today was pretty good...

I had a good day today..besides the freezing winds...=)

So, my school was closed today...

I didn't have school today because of the "mega-storm"...We got about 6 inches of snow.

Anyway...I shoveled my drive-way...and our neighbors...so that was a pretty good workout.

Today I have eaten a lot...it's kinda gross...

B: PB&J and Coffee: 382 calories

S1: PB&J: 282 calories and a Coke: 103 cal

L: a few club crackers with yellow american cheese: 480 cal

Coke: 103

Dinner: Cheese Pizza: 350 cal

Total: 1785 cal...

I used that BMI calculator that Irene had sent me on a previous blog, and I calculated that I need 2674.06...so I guess that isn't as bad as I thought...I just feel gross about it.

Anyway, like I said before, I shoveled two driveways today...so that was a workout.

Last night...

So yesterday, I ran out of time to workout.

It was partially voluntarily..
I really had no time to workout between grocery shopping and going to the birthday party.

After the party was over (by 9:30..when originally I wanted to be home by 9), my friend whom had like 8 children over all between the ages of 1 1/2- 5 years old...was going crazy over the mess.

It was definitely a lot of fun, and it will be the same group of parents tonight at 80's night..definitely going to be a blast.

Anyway, with the mess from the pinata, balloons, and messes in the kids rooms, I felt compelled to stay and help clean up.
I felt really bad because there were marks all over her white walls and everything...so I helped her clean up the little pieces of pinata paper that were all over the floor and food and balloons that were popped.

I felt bad because she is a "neat-freak"..and she admits it.

So I was helping clean up and deflating all of the balloons..and making the kids laugh by inhaling helium...I know, not safe..but still it kept the kids from eating candy at 10 at night.

So I helped her get rid of the balloons and cleaned up, then Paul and I got our stuff together to leave by 10:45 last night...and we got home at like 11:15 (it's about a 45 minute drive home).

I've been doing really bad...

Although, I will admit..I only had 2 slices of pizza, and I couldn't even eat the cake..it was way too rich...but I had a cup of coffee instead.

Also, this morning...ugh..I binged on Orange Rolls...they are sooo good..omg..I had 3.

I am definitely going to work out soon, before I need to shower and get ready tonight.

Lunch is probably going to be salad...then we are having Porkchops for dinner tonight...

So..

B: Orange Rolls: 3: ugh..510 cal

L: Salad with Italian Dressing: 58 cal.

D: Porkchops: 244
Potatoes: 123

Total: 935 cal.

(No snacking because I had a late breakfast, working out, late lunch, early dinner..lol.)

Working out:

Elliptical 40 minutes: 518 cal. burned
Stationery Bike/Paddleboat thing 20 min: 212 cal burned
Weightlifting 20 minutes: 86 cal burned
Dancing tonight from 9-1..lol (2 hours I said): 777 cal burned..haha
Total: 1593 =)

Today is going to be a good day..

Have a great night!

New Changes to the Wedding Plans...

So Paul and I were talking..a lot..about some info we had received from the Priest at his parent's church (the church we will be attending from now on)..

The Priest had informed us that he is not able to do weddings outside of a church setting. The Priest at the Church we had been going to (that we aren't very thrilled with, after the deacon insulted the people in Dingmans Ferry..claiming that we were not intelligent enough to grasp Catholicism within a year and a half time.), had told us that Catholic Priests were able to do weddings at any venue.

Granted, I believe Paul's Priest (Father Gerald), over Father Paul (the one in Dingmans).
Needless to say, instead of having our reception at Catlin Gardens, which would be an hour away from the church...we may have it moved to some place closer.

They have a reception hall across the street, which was the older church before it was remodeled. We were thinking about that, but it needs some fixing.

Another thing, we were looking at Ehrhardt's in Hawley, PA...Not too far away from where I live...25 minutes about.

I know I still have some time, but I'm really organized and like to get things done and planned so if any issues arise, it can be taken care of or changed without having to be rushed.

I'm printing out the info and packages for Ehrhardt's actually right now as I am typing this.

It's 11 pages..lol..I'm sorry, Pauly!

Although it seems that with Ehrhardt's I would have more selections of meals, cakes, and whatnot than at Catlin.

That may be what we decide to do.

I know that no matter what I choose, it will be perfect.

I have faith that God will help to guide me through this process and I will make the right decisions with His help.

I have to get ready to leave though.

Updates to come...

Can I hack it?

I ended up gaining 2lbs...which is okay, because I think that I am just retaining water in my muscles..

Tonight is the birthday party...I also have to do some serious grocery shopping today..oh boy.

I think that even if we get home kinda late, I'm going to at least hop on the elliptical for a little while..I know for Lent I was going to work out for at least an hour...so I'm going to give it my best.

Or, if I have time between shopping and the party, I am going to do 30 minutes then and 30 minutes later...maybe that would help.

All I know is that I am going to do it.

So..here is what I'm taking in today...

No meat! No snacking in between!

Breakfast: Peaches N Cream Oatmeal (2 packs, because 1 pack just looks so puny sitting there by itself): 260 calories.
1/2 Glass of 2% milk: (I need to pick up more soy milk.): 61.5 cal

Lunch: Caesar Salad: 277 calories

Dinner: Cheese Pizza...Probably 1 slice: 192 calories

Dessert: Cake: ugh....chocolate cake, vanilla icing 1 small slice: 459...eeek.

Total: 1249...still not as much as I usually eat...

Although, to burn it off:

Elliptical: 40 minutes: 524 cal burned
The paddleboat thingy 20 minutes: 204 cal burned
Circuit Training (J.M. Shred 1) 30 minutes: 349 cal burned
Weight lifting 30 min (per DVD and free weights): 262 cal burned

Have a good day...gotta get ready to go shopping!

Update...

So I didn't do the DVD..

I did 20 minutes on the elliptical...then did another 20 minutes of a stationary bicycle/peddleboat type thing...yeah..I don't know what it's called..but it's cardio..haha.

40 minutes straight of cardio...

Then I did some muscle building...I did my inner thighs with a 5lb weight, and I pumped some 10 pounders for biceps, wrist curls, I did my calf exercise..and that might be it..lol.

I did a different weightloss plan on the elliptical to "shock" my body...because I was able to do Weightloss 1 for 20 minutes, then I was able to do it again...

So I changed it up a bit. =)..Which is always good. hah.

This weekend is going to be tough to watch my eating..Tomorrow is my friend's kid's 3rd birthday...
Pizza...A little bit of Alcohol (we're not irresponsible)...Cake...Oh boy.

I also have to go grocery shopping tomorrow...woo hoo...That was my sad attempt of computer sarcasm. =).

Anyway, Saturday is 80's night...Talk about fun...I know, I know, I wasn't born until the late 80's but I seriously think that I was born in the 70's in my past life because I LOVE 80's music.... =)

And 80's movies...The Breakfast Club...16 Candles...C'mon now!

Moving on, I'm actually really tired...lol.

So 80's night will be fun, I have been going to bed kinda early because of morning classes, but I don't know how I am going to stay up late...haha. I'm 20 and can't stay up late, what the heck?

So I weighed myself after working out, which probably wasn't good...but anyway I weighed 178..So technically, I'm normal.

Anyway, tomorrow is going to be pretty busy, but I will do my best to post either in the morning or when we get home.

Paul and I are going to go watch Sober House on VH1...

Have a great night! =)

I plan on kicking my butt again today....

I was talking to my fi today, and I told him that I may not go so overly crazy about working out my outer thighs...because I already have that huge quad muscle sticking out..lol.

It's pretty cool, but my inner thighs need to tone up a little more...so I think I will focus more on those tonight and the elliptical.

Last night I did a really kick-ass work out in the aspect of doing the elliptical for 20 minutes and topping out at 1,330 revolutions (which is like 105 more than usual), then Shred 1, then did some bicep workouts with a 10lb. weight (30 reps each), I did more ab work, I did some leg raises with a 10lb weight on them, then I did some inner thigh raises...
so what I may do is do more inner thigh raises, but have Paul hold the 10lb weight on my leg to put some more work into it (since with the way you lay..you can't really do it yourself..lol).

Afterward, I actually did some calf workouts..which is amazing if you have stairs...or even a couple mats....
It's really easy and it sculpts your calves quick...
Really, all I do is just stand on a step (or chair) and grip the edge of the step with my toes, and try to balance with the majority of the weight on my heel...
Then, I stand up on my tip-toes, then I relax to the beginning, then I stand on my tip-toes again..and I keep doing it until I feel a really good burn in my calves.

Literally, last summer I did this everyday for like a week, and I saw drastic changes in my calves...it was amazing....it also strengthens your ankle muscles...which I need (for all the tendonitis and tearing I have going on in my ankles)...

So..today...
I've been a tiny bit lax about my eating...
I've went on a serious cookie binge..well, like 4 cookies..

So...
I didn't really eat breakfast..but:

Snack 1: 4 Cookies ugh: 520..it was spread throughout the day though.

Lunch: French fries lol..yeah, I told you: 2 servings: 260 calories

Dinner: I had not even half of the half of the footlong tuna sub I split with Paul from subway..lol...so technically 1/4 a tuna sub with lettuce, light mayo, and pickles.: about 282 cals
Lemonade: 90 cal.

Snack 2: Maybe a yogurt...100 cal.

Total..Ugh...: 1252 cal. if I have the yogurt...

However, if I work out on the elliptical tonight for 40 minutes that will burn 518...

Weight lifting 30 minutes: 259 burned

Yoga 30 minutes: 108 calories

Shred 1: 345 calories

Total: 885...not even close to what I have taken in today...I may do the shred 1 tonight too.

If I do, that will make it 1230..close enough...=) those extra calories will aid to my energy...=)

Time to kick my butt!

I'll update later, or tomorrow. =)
Have a good night everyone, and happy Lent season.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

I just had to post this...

I weighed myself...

182.3lbs

Which means that my BMI is 26.13..

Which also means that I am only 3lbs away from being at the top part of my "normal range"...130-179...woohoo!

9lbs away from my first goal weight...=)

Oh, and my Wii age was 21...which I will be, this September.

I broke it down, so when I reach the goal I start to feel better about myself, and it makes me want to work out even more...=)

And I am at the weight that I was at basketball...
A little more toning and I'll look the way I did.

I'm so excited!! =)

Reason why I gained the weight, and today is going to be a good day.

I woke up at 6:30 and was (and still am) in a great mood!
Granted, I'm not going to classes today because I just have waaaay too much to do but I plan on getting a lot accomplished today.

I woke up at 6:30, took my sister to the bus stop, came home, and instead of passing out on the couch in pain, I made coffee. =)

I started a cup of coffee and felt completely refreshed from all of my extra rest, and went through the list of things I was going to do today...

Clean (Which I already started, yes...at 7 in the morning...=))
Go to church for Ash Wednesday Mass (at 12-noon)
Go and get Colin's birthday gift(s)...He'll be turning 3..and he is sooo adorable. =)
Go to Wal-mart to pick up some sort of fish...probably just fish
sticks for dinner tonight..lol...or if I am feeling really good I may make salmon...=)
Also I have to get a new dish scrubber, some iron pills, annnd maybe some cookie mix, because I am sooo craving a chocolate chip cookie.
Then later, working out on the elliptical and doing maybe shred 1
Paul isn't going to his basketball league tonight because of Ash Wednesday so I get to spend the day with my love =).
Then tonight our show comes on at 9...We love Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International...I know it may seem stupid or immature, but I believe that spirits are always around us, and the show just proves it.

Especially because I have had a few experiences..and I know this sounds creepy or stupid but I lost a very close friend of mine in October of 2007. He was on his way home from work late one night and ended up in a car accident.
The irony of it was that Paul wasn't living with me at the time, and he was going to leave my house around 11, and I asked him to stay a little longer, so he said Okay 15 minutes then I have to go.

Paul left at 11:15, and was the one to find the accident...he didn't know who the driver was, but called me shaken up because of how bad it was. I just told him to call 9-1-1 but to not touch the driver or the car. So the police were called and Paul told me it was a white car, so I didn't really think anything of it.

The next day I was on my way to get some food and I decided to call Derek to see if he knew (he's an EMT) who was in the accident last night. Straight to voicemail. It was strange because he was one of my best friends, and he knew if I was calling during the day, something happened, and I needed to talk. I didn't leave a voicemail.

I went to basketball practice, no problem. I was on my way home, and Paul had picked up my sister for me and was waiting at my house, he said that he asked his sister who it was, but she didn't remember the name (He was a senior.).

I pulled into the driveway and my phone rings...It was mom.
She had asked me if Derek was the one I did my Sociology Wedding Project with my senior year.
I broke down crying.

Then it all hit me...Derek used to drive a white Ford Contour...When his uncle passed away, in his will, he wanted to give Derek his black corvette for a graduation present, little did I know, the corvette was in the shop and Derek was driving his old car.

The police say that he fell asleep while driving, but when Paul was driving home one night he asked Derek what happened and out of nowhere, in the same exact spot of the accident, a deer jumped out from no where into the middle of the road.

Needless to say, his viewing and his funeral were the two hardest things I have ever had to do in my entire life...but the night before the funeral I had a dream about him, and we were talking about things we had never said in real life before...and it wasn't a conversation we would usually have..and it was about his accident.
I still believe that he is watching over me, and I can still feel him...That is why I believe that there are spirits that around us all of the time...

His death was the main reason why I gained the weight. Paul had delt with a death of someone close before, and he told me what his father told him...Don't drink your pain..If you have to choose..eat it away.

Weight you can lose, death you can't.

The first few days after his death, I didn't want to eat, I didn't want to drink anything..I just wanted to lay in bed and not do anything. I didn't really want to talk. I cried most of the time...
Then I took Paul's advice, I ate...and I ate...and I ate..constantly.
So now it's time to show Derek that I am okay, and I will be healthy, and I will live a life long enough for the both of us.

And,
This blog isn't meant to depress anyone.
It's been over a year, and I think about him every single day..but I know I can't let myself get so wrapped up in his accident, I need to move on and live my life, but to remember the memories and the type of person he was.

That has been a huge help, the memories. It has helped me to see the type of person I want to be, and ultimately it has shown me how precious life really is.

Since I have realized this, it has become the reason why I want to lose weight and become as healthy as I can.

Anyway, on to a more positive note...

I haven't really eaten anything yet, I'm going to weigh myself, but I have had coffee..lol.
I'll probably have a croissant, because I'm craving one...stupid Aunt Flo...

B: Coffee and 1/2 Croissant: 172 cal

S1: Probably water.

Lunch: Caesar Salad: 160 cal

S2:Chocolate Chip Cookies Probably 2-3 if I can contain myself lol: 260-390 eek!

D: Fishsticks and French Fries: 281+130=411 cal

Total: 1,003-1,133..not too bad. WebMd says my caloric intake should be around 1,702..so that's not too bad.

Also, pending my workout plans...
Elliptical (hopefully 40 minutes): will burn 529 calories (474 left to burn provided I only have 2 cookies..lol)

Weight lifting (per DVD I'd say 10-15 minutes for shred 1): Only 44, cardio may help it though (434 left)

Shopping: Non-Grocery 1 hr 15 minutes (both stores I have to go to): 254 calories burned (180 left to burn)

Church: Sitting 30 minutes: 44 calories burned, sitting in church..lol. I had no idea..haha (136)

Circuit training in general for 30 minutes (per Shred 1): 353

Technically I would be burning 1,224 calories.
Woo hoo.

Okay, it's almost 9 already so I have to get going...I have to wake Paul up..the Bum.

Have a great day everyone!!

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Wow.

So today I weighed myself...after having half a cup of coffee and a blueberry yogurt...
It said I lost 4.2 lbs...how does that happen? My second day with Aunt Flo, and I lost weight? Omg!

I am hoping to kick this illness completely by tomorrow. I e-mailed all of my professors, and all of them told me to get completely better before I come back (there are a lot of illnesses circling the school, and a lot of people have been getting really sick so they have been trying to keep everything sterilized and clean in the classes). I am definitely the epitome of sterilized...when we have the computers..I always carry hand sanitizer with me..and use it...before and after I touch practically everything.

I always wash my hands and keep clean with everything. I know it seems weird, but I am like a germophobe. lol.
With today's day and age you really have to..lol.
Plus, I did a lot of volunteer work in Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Vet's offices...places where cleanliness is really stressed.
So, that has really stuck with me...

Moving on, today as I said:

B: Coffee and Yogurt: 125+105=230
S1: 3 hard boiled egg whites + Dr. Pepper: 51+150=201
Lunch: 2 slices pepperoni pizza (finishing my Dr. Pepper): 420
S2: TBD
Dinner: Caesar Salad: 78+20=108

Total: 932 calories.

Hello Sickness.

I woke up with a screaming headache and a 101.7 fever.

Wonderful.

I feel a little better since this morning, but it turned back around when I received my monthly friend. Aunt Flo came to visit.

I'm definitely relaxing all day today.
Paul was doing everything he could to make me feel better today, it was so cute, he made me breakfast, made me lunch, and he is actually at the store picking up a few things...like Dibs ice cream bites.

I hope I get better by the end of this week..I should.
Thursday I am going with my friend to get our nails done.
Friday is my friend's son's 3rd birthday.
Saturday is 80's night at a club that we are going to with a few other couples.

Alright..back to lying down...
I'll update tomorrow.

Worst headache ever!

So, I ended up gaining 3lbs since yesterday. Ugh!.

This is horrible, and on top of me feeling down about that, I have a major headache and feel like I am coming down with something. Are you serious? This sucks.

I really need to work out today. I didn't yesterday.

We went to the Islanders game, which they spanked the NJ Devils 4-0.

That was fun..but I wish I didn't have the urge to gorge myself all of the time..
It's hard.

I may work out early, and get it over with...20 minutes on the elliptical then relax the rest of the day.
At least it's something.

The dog is sick. =(
She has been up all night with diarrhea, and she threw up this morning...not to mention she peed on the floor which is definitely UNLIKE her.

And I feel unusually irritable.
PMS maybe?
I don't know.

I haven't really eaten much because I'm really not hungry.

I had part of a breakfast quesadilla..well, 1 piece.
Which is bacon, eggs, cheese in a tortilla.

1 slice bacon really: 42 cal
Eggs (1): 78 (pending it is fried)
Cheese: 424 cal per cup shredded.
Tortilla:90 cal

Total: Ouch...635.

No lunch, because we are having an early dinner..Pot Roast with Carrots, Mashed Potatoes, and LF Cottage Cheese...
About:
Pot Roast: 180
Carrots: 10 (I used 10 large carrots cut into bite-sized pieces)
Mashed Potatoes: 237
LF Cottage cheese: 102

Total: 529

Maybe a yogurt later: 105

E: 20-30 minutes on the elliptical...40 if I am up to it.

Total: Ugh...1,269.

Definitely need to work this out tonight.

Tomorrow should be a little better because I am getting rid of junk food...lol. Also Pauly and I are taking a trip to Long Island for the Islanders vs Devils game at Nassau Coliseum. I Kicked Myself In The Butt Yesterday...

Instead of sulking about how lethargic I felt yesterday, I got over myself.

I changed clothes, went upstairs and worked out to Jillian Michael's No More Trouble Zones workout.
I did the entire thing, front to back.
THEN, I even got on the wii for a little bit to do some yoga to stretch me out.

I have only lost a lb this week though.
Better than nothing.

Today, I had a bagel with about half of a serving of ICBINB which is probably like 300 calories total.

Lunch will probably be a turkey sandwich (my friend is making them for us today for shopping so we don't have to buy food)...*EDIT* I actually had pb & J on whole wheat bread..lol

Dinner is up in the air..*Edit again* We had lf cheeseburgers, green beans, and fries.

E: Walking around Woodbury Commons (Probably for about 5 hours..we like to shop!)..lol.
Probably the elliptical because my butt is sore from the workout..lol.
Maybe some yoga.

*I feel so tired from walking today. We were walking around for like 3 hours. I am so sore and exhausted..especially because we were battling the wind the entire time. It was like walking with a weight pushing you back. It was bad. It has completely worn me out.*

Oh, and we went to Starbucks today, while my friend got a coffee, guess what I got? The HEALTHY Chocolate Banana Vivanno drink...Can you believe that? I traded a latte for a healthy drink. I couldn't believe it!!

Also, I'm so proud of myself, I have only had 1 soda today. Usually I drink 3..it's almost frightening. I had one Diet Coke today, other then that, it has been water...and Not even half of a Smirnoff Ice.
Paul actually drank more of it..lol.

I did really good today..I'm so happy.
I will have to weigh in tomorrow and will let you guys know how I did.

=)
Have a good night, gals!

I seriously need motivation...

It is one of those days...

I have been doing REALLY well eating wise...and I have worked out quite a bit this week...but I seriously have NOOOO motivation to work out today.

I know I need to, and more than likely will, I just feel like I need a good kick to the butt!

Tomorrow I am going shopping with my best friend, so that should be nice. =)

I need some serious motivation...
I think though, that I am going to do the elliptical and yoga tonight.

Help.

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Todaaay..

So I would usually weigh myself in the morning before I eat...but I was so hungry this morning, I didn't.

I'm ashamed..lol..

Anyway, I had a bagel with a little bit of ICBINB on it, and a banana, and a small glass of soymilk for breakfast..

for lunch, it will be egg salad sandwich on whole wheat bread..yumm!

I'm still not sure about dinner, because we were invited over to a friend's house tonight. I hope we don't stay too late tonight, mainly because I have my morning classes tomorrow and it I don't get to bed by 11, I will be extremely cranky.

Anyway, I know I said I was going to post something else in my last post, but seeing as how I forgot what it was, I will not be doing so..lol.

I also have journalism class today, but my professor said he has been really ill the past several days, so I e-mailed him telling him I hope he is feeling better, yada yada yada, and asked whether we were having class today or not.

To be honest, normally I wouldn't ask, BUT seeing as how it is my only class of the day, I don't want to make the 35 minute trip to Sussex just to find out my class is cancelled then come back home. lol.

Needless to say, he hasn't responded to ANYONE's e-mails. So I figured I had an idea for a story for the school newspaper that I would write, and I e-mailed him again to toss the idea at him.

Still no reply.

It doesn't say on the school website if any of his classes are cancelled for today, so I may just end up making the drive.

Okay, so working out when I get back from class.
I plan on doing the elliptical, maybe some weightlifting for the upper body, crunches, reverse crunches, and some yoga to stretch me out..lol.

That will be an estimated hour to hour and a half.

Okay, that's it for me today.. Time to start on lunch!!

Have a good day everyone!!

Lent.

Okay so next week is Ash Wednesday..so I was thinking about stuff to do for Lent.

I figured that in order to better myself not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well I would do this...
Instead of giving something up, I decided that for forty days I will work out every single one of them.

Usually I have one day off to rest, but if my body can take it, I'm going to do it.
Oh, and I have to do it at least for an hour...GRANTED, I know that on Sundays you are allowed to have what you decided to give up....but, I am going to do my best to workout every single day for forty days and if I am really exhausted I will rest.

Also, I have another discussion to post later on today, but I am going to go outside and play some basketball with Paul because it's nice out, and I haven't played in awhile...

Plus it also helps out to show me where I stand with my stamina...whether it's increasing or :( decreasing..lol..

But, as far as Lent, Please please Please tell me what you guys think!!!

More to come later...

Also, so far I had cheerios: 110
Crackers with Pepperoni which is the killer..lol it would be like 230
Dinner is still up in the air, probably a piece of cheese pizza: 220

Probably a yogurt and banana later on tonight. =)

Quick Post, then workout time!

I am definitely relaxing today.

Yesterday was fun with Paul at work...everybody at the V-Day Dance wanted to talk to me and whatnot and giving me requests it was so fun.

Okay, so today..I don't really have any calorie counts yet, because I'm not prepared..lol.

BUT, I am getting ready to work out on the elliptical for probably 20 minutes, then another 20 minutes then maybe some yoga on the Wii.

I definitely have to get back on track this week...with it being Valentine's Day I have been a little off-track..lol.

I have splurged on coffee, DD, and pancakes..lol.

Tonight I think will be a steak and salad night. =)

After I work out and whatnot, then I will have to come back and update some more.

All in all, not really eventful day today.
We got home around 2:30-3:00 this morning and had a few glasses of wine then went to bed...and I passed out within like 10 minutes, I was so tired!!

It was a good weekend though.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's day with your fi's and Husbands!!!

Friday...better post..

So today was pretty eventful, my food list will probably be slightly different then what I posted before, because Paul had surprised me with an offer to go to Apple Bee's for lunch today.
As a Valentine's Gift, Paul was doing 3 parts, the first was taking me shopping, today was lunch, and then something else tomorrow...Seeing as how he is working from 7-12 at a V-Day Party, he encouraged me to go with.

So we are going to work tomorrow..lol.

So, I had the same breakfast, I didn't really eat anything out of the ordinary.

I had 1 sugar cookie which was like 180 calories. Ugh.
And for applebee's we split mozzarella sticks, which I had 2..lol.

And I ate about a quarter of my meal which was the double crunch shrimp and french fries...so that will be my lunch AND dinner. =)
I did good about my portions..lol.

Anyway, again, I will probably have a yogurt after working out.

After AppleBee's I don't know what happened, I felt so exhausted..lol. We came home and I completely passed out...and of course, Jade jumped up on the bed and passed out with me.

Paul had to make a trip to the store, so he left after I fell asleep..lol.
Jade and I were completely comatose until like 5:30...I got a good 2 hour nap.

I had to force myself up at 5:30 because I knew if I didn't, I wouldn't be sleeping tonight.

I feel better though..lol.

So that is my post.
I will update probably sunday.

Quick Post, for today is a busy day!!

So I have to make this quick because my baby has to go to the groomers to get her nails trimmed..I'll post a picture of her below.
She is my Australian Shepherd Pitbull Mix---Her name is Jade.

She is 9 years old, and has a thyroid problem, so her fur doesn't grow back as quick as it should..for example, I buzzed her fur shorter last June...she still has some "bald spots" where her fur isn't growing..she has no fur on the top of her muzzle, and a rat tail...but she is my baby.
I have had her since she was about 4 weeks old.
She is now almost 9.

Anyway, on top of her thyroid she has arthritis, the doctor told us that we needed to limit her food intake to get her to lose weight, because her hips were going fast, and we can't take her for long walks because she has little to no cartlidge in her hips.

So we have her taking a glyco-supplement and that seems to have helped, and in a year she went from being about 79lbs to about 50lbs...we changed up her food, she no longer gets table scraps, and we try to keep her moving slowly but surely.

Since she isn't walking on pavement, her nails aren't naturally filing...so we need to take her to get them trimmed today...which means, she gets a bath today....lol.

I also have to pick up my sister today, because her school has a half day.

So I have to bathe me, bathe the dog, pick up the sister, take the dog to the groomers. =)

I have had a bagel so far with a little bit of turkey on it, so I'm guessing around 200 calories.
And a yogurt, 110.
Lunch will probably just be a nutrigrain bar, maybe another for snack: 260 calories

Dinner, will probably be a lunch meat sandwich, like ham and cheese: Its about another 260 I think..lol

And maybe a yogurt for post-workout snack: 110

Total 940.

So, here is my baby, Jade...

Photobucket

In this pic, she's winking..lol

Photobucket

Oh, and I taught her how to smile at everyone...but she mainly smiles at Paul and I. =)

Okay, I'll update more later!

Crappy Day...

So my day was pretty crappy, except the weather..it hit 70 in Sussex, NJ today.

It kind of felt like everything that could go wrong did...and the kicker was, it didn't start until after my classes were over with..so I guess thats good?

I did good with food until around 3..lol.

I had my Multi Grain Cheerios 110
and a small glass of OJ another 110

I had 2 nutri-grain bars which is like 260

Cue the hate music....
I had a Chicken sandwich from Wendy's and some fries as well.... the sandwich itself is 440
and the fries is like 550 I think...=(

I haven't had anything since...and at this point, I don't think I will be hungry for the rest of the night. I feel gross.

I am definitely doing the elliptical tonight along with this new DVD I picked up...I got Jillian Michael's No More Trouble Zones, which pretty much targets the abs, saddle bags..lol, hips, thighs, and butt....my trouble zones..lol.

It also helps out with underarm flab..which has never really been a problem for me, but whatever, the more toned up I am, the better. =).
I did it for the first time last night and OMG, it is a killer!

I was kind of sore today, so I thought that maybe tonight I would take a break and rest, but after my splurging, I am definitely kicking it up a notch tonight and rest tomorrow I think depending on my progress.

Wow I can't believe how hungry I was. I'm almost ashamed.
Also, to put the cherry on top of such a crappy day I was using the Go Green Windex to wipe down my dashboard in my car and what not, and wiping down my windows.
I decided to do the outside of my windshield because I had muddy water flipped onto it because of people in front of me on the roads.

I start wiping the windex off, and my pinky hits my windshield wiper blade, and it hurt pretty bad.
I take a quick glance, shake it off (like a typical athlete lol), and kept going, I started to notice blood soaking up my paper towels.

I look at my hand, and my pinky was seriously bleeding. So I'm thinking, What the hell? And I get a dry paper towel and wipe off my pinky, and sure enough, there is a semi-deep cut about the size of a half the width of an index finger and another one crossing that one.

There was a lot of blood for that cut..lol. I just wrapped it up and finished cleaning, and I came in showing Paul and he was like Ewww.

So needless to say, I cleaned it up...then realized we were out of band aids...so now it's just out in the open..but the bleeding stopped so it's alright.

So that is my day.
I need some real motivation though, I feel pretty crappy about Wendy's. =(

So far today...

I know it's only like 20 minutes to noon here, but I need to update early because Tuesdays are my busy afternoons.

I had the usual for breakfast this morning..
Soy milk and a serving of Multi-grain cheerios.

I didn't really have a snack though, I was making an early lunch. Although, I thought about binging on a cheese danish, but I haven't had one in literally, years. I tried it and realized that I may not like it now as much as I used to. It was way too sweet for me. I literally took one bite and was like, Nope, Not worth it.

For lunch I made egg salad... I love my egg salad..and it's pretty healthy and high in protein. =)
I'll have to put the recipe down at the bottom so you guys can try it and tell me what you think.

So, today I have my Journalism class, it's kinda cool because my professor asked me to start writing for the campus paper about..well, whatever I want. I need some ideas though.

Also, after class today I will be doing a lot of working out. I'm really just in an upbeat mood today, so I think a good workout will help out a lot.

I'm doing a light pasta dinner I think tonight.

Anyway, that's my plan for today...I will have to update later if I get the time to.

Recipe for egg salad:

You'll want like 10-12 eggs (you end up squishing them, so it will seem like a lot less).

Hard boil the eggs.
Obviously, let the eggs cool, peel off the shells.
Once you have all of the eggs "de-shelled", Cut them into tiny pieces, yoke included.
After you cut them up, place them in a bowl and take a fork to start squishing the egg yoke and whites.

Keep at it with a fork until the eggs are crushed into small crumbley pieces (like my word there? lol)
After you finish squishing all of the hard boiled eggs, you will need Hellmans Light Mayo (or whatever brand you prefer), salt, and pepper.

Usually with about 10-12 eggs, it will take about 2-3 tablespoons of the light mayo to get it to the right consistency.
Stir the eggs and mayo with your fork until the mix is creamy.
I usually use about 1/2 teaspoon of salt...make sure you stir the salt in really well.

Then I take the pepper and do a light sprinkling over the eggs, mayo, and salt. I just make a really thin layer on top, then stir in the pepper.
After stirring the pepper in really well, enjoy.

You may have to taste it to see if you think there needs more salt or pepper.
I usually just have it on bread, but Paul will have it with toast or crackers.

Oh, and you can also add onions or tomatoes or chili powder...a few of my friends add those to make it like a southwest style.

Let me know how it goes!

Monday, February 9, 2009

Today...I did alright...but worked it off.

So today I didn't do my best...

I snacked on a few carbs here and there.

Well,
for breakfast I had a serving of Multi-Grain Cheerios (I love them!) which is about 110 calories.
I also had Chocolate soy milk to drink...I have been doing my best to only have DD or Starbucks as a luxury treat rather than an every day thing.
The soy milk was about 140 calories.
I then had 2 nutri-grain bars today, so that was 260.
When I got home I was starving, and binged on two croissants from Costco...=(
I then had a lot of raw broccoli for dinner and string peas...lol..not really sure where that compares...

After dinner I thought it was time for exercise...Not only did I do my normal stair exercises at school today (see previous post about Mondays and Wednesdays), but I also did another 20 minutes on the elliptical, got off for about 5 to get a few swigs of water, then got back on for another 20.

THEN, I did some free weights with my upper body.
After working out, Paul suggested I make myself a protein shake to help my muscles.

I made a protein shake with a banana, banana yogurt, and soy milk..so I got about 12 grams of protein in.

Tomorrow, my workout will probably consist of my Tuesday School Stairs regime, and probably another 40 minutes on the elliptical...with probably some yoga and weight training involved.

=)

I will have to update tomorrow. =)

Goodnight all.

I know this may sound like I am being an Attention Whore BUT...

It's my blog!
Haha. I'm kidding.

Anyway, I had a really good weekend for it being just that.
Saturday...I was helping my mom clean because she drives from PA to NYC every day with my step-father.
I was on my feet the entire day.
I also went on the elliptical for 20 minutes (a weight loss training session), then I got off for about 5 minutes to fill up my jug of water, I was still hyped up and my legs weren't tired yet, so I figured that needed to change..lol.
I went back on the elliptical for another 20 minutes, then did some free-weights for my upper body and called it quits.

I had had pizza for lunch with Paul before he had to work, but I only had one tiny piece..It was Freschetta so if you know the pizza, you know how tiny the pieces are. lol.

For dinner I had 4 cheese penne pasta..it was sooo good.

Today I did pretty well...I didn't exercise, but Paul and I did "Part 1" for my Valentine's day gift...He is working on Valentine's day, so he split up my gift(s) throughout the week.

Today we went to iHop, and I got a philly cheesesteak..I am weak when it comes to those..BUT, I ate about a quarter of it, and most of my fries (there weren't many anyway), and boxed the rest to go.
After that we went to Woodbury Commons since it was like 50 degress today..It was amazing outside (Woodbury Commons is like an Outdoor mall).

We went shopping and Pauly bought me 4 shirts and a hat....he also bought me starbucks (I had a small Skinny Vanilla Latte).

So we came home and had cheeseburgers with a side of raw vegetables (carrots, broccoli, string peas, tomatoes).
I barely made it through one cheeseburger...they were huge from Costco.

I have been doing really well though at avoiding temptations..lol..We have cheese danishes that I have been avoiding...that has been tough.

I got more multi-grain cheerios though, so that will definitely help..I love them!!

It was so great, my parents noticed that I am thinning up a lot.

I also took my measurements yesterday.

Since I started:

My biceps have gained about an inch of muscle..which is fine.

My bust has lost an inch.
My stomach has lost an inch.
My hips have lost a quarter of an inch...
and
My thighs have lost 2-3 inches.

I'm excited..I told Paul that once I get the weight off, tanning will come next. =) I have a few prom pictures where I was soooo dark between softball and tanning every day after practice for like two months.
I would kill to be that dark again. =).

Here's to saving money for a tanning salon membership!

Also, this isn't Healthy Weight related, but there has been suggestions about moving our wedding up due to the economy.
Our date as of now is June 27, 2010.
A few of our family members is suffering from the lay-offs, and my mom had suggested to me a year ago about not waiting until 2010...I brushed it off.
Well, the other morning Paul was talking to my mom and she had brought it up again...We were talking about moving the date up, today in the car, such as the pro's and con's of moving the wedding up to the end of this year, but we didn't really finalize the conversation.

So, as of now, it is still up in the air...I am hoping though, that we figure out this soon. I have told Paul on several occasions, that I don't care who marries us, where we get married, or when we get married...all that matters to me is that we are together, and that it is on paper.

So I will definitely re-touch on this topic as we figure this out.

Anyway, time to get ready for bed soon.
Early classes tomorrow.

G'night.

Thursday, February 5, 2009

Woo hoo!

I weighed myself today and...I lost 6.3lbs this week!

I am so excited...and to be perfectly honest, I haven't really done any OFFICIAL working out..all I did was cut out Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks..which has been the toughest.
I take the stairs to all of my classes rather than the elevator...and I park in the upper lot of the campus, so I have to walk 8 flights of stairs (down to classes/back up to car), 2 to my first class (up and down), I go to the building next door, walk up 4 more, walk down the same 4, then go back to the original building...so technically, I walk about 18 flights of stairs up and down every Monday and Wednesday.
On tuesday I just walk up and down 2..so four total.
So about 22 flights of stairs at school a week.
Also I make sure I have a really good breakfast, I have a cup of coffee, but I have found that I haven't really been drinking it all..just a few drinks and I'm done.

I usually take a nutri-grain bar with me to snack on in between classes and that usually holds me over.

When I get home...which is around 2:15ish, I will plan for dinner, maybe have another small snack like an apple or a fat-free yogurt, and will set out the food for dinner.

The awesome part is, I have had some chocolate for my period this week (it ended tuesday), so I'm glad I worked more of it off then I thought.

Today I had an eggo waffle with sugar-free syrup, coffee.
No Snack.
Lunch Paul and I split a footlong turkey sub (so 6") with american cheese, lettuce, pickles, and light mayo, and a small bag of sunchips.
No Snack
Dinner: I am making Caesar salad for myself with stuffed chicken that my mom had made the other day..it is so good.

And for a dessert, I am making Carrot and Celery juice...sounds gross, but it is soooo good. I love it..and it's healthy. =)

Oh, as far as exercising...
I was on the elliptical for 30 minutes earlier today, and I will probably do some yoga on the wii for about 30-40 minutes. =)

Oh and my fav part is, during basketball season, I only weighed 3lbs less than what I do now! I would seriously not mind if I just dropped another 10lbs and toned up...It would be so amazing.

=)..I am so excited..

Next thing to get myself off of...
Soda.

I'm not drinking as much as I used to, but it is still more than I would like.
2 a week would be nice.
I'm doing like 4.

I'll have to update more later...=)

Really Quick...

Irene...

We LOVED the chicken pot pie..it was soo good.
Even Paul gave kudos!

I have to go though.
It's still snowing. I didn't go to Journalism class today.
I got the work though.

Oh well,
I gotta go. I'm whipped from shoveling and I need to make dinner.
Talk more later...

Voted: Most Popular Fiancee of a Mobile Disc Jockey.

SO...
I was talking to Paul..since he is on his way home...and he was telling me that he met someone from theknot.com who said that she knew me.

That was numero uno on the list.
THEN quite a few of the DJ vendors (keep your eyes out now!) were asking around to see who was engaged seeing as they read on the knot that I am a Hudson Valley bride and wanted to know which DJ I was getting engaged to...just to make sure it wasn't a scam.

Paul reassured them that I am not on there to promote their business...which is the truth.
I am on there to get opinions on vendors and ideas for the wedding, and why should I be deprived of the experience just because he is in the wedding business?

Go Hunnie!
lol.

So not only am I now one of the most popular brides on the knot to vendors alone...but also I just helped Paul and Larry figure out how many vendors go snooping onto the knot to test their ratings.

So good or bad, I'm not sure...I am now one of the most popular brides in the Hudson Valley.
Wow.

I know I haven't posted in the past couple of days...

Friday I was super busy.
Paul and I had to go to the mall to get a few things, went to the store, went to his meeting and didn't get back until 12 a.m.

Yesterday...
We were super busy yesterday too.
I didn't workout yesterday but I kept my cal intake low.

Today...
I had a pancake with sugar free syrup and a cup of coffee for breakfast.
I didn't really have any snack.
Lunch, I had left over tortellini for lunch.
Dinner, I'm not really sure what is for dinner, but it's definitely going to be light.

Then we are watching the football game...even though the Giants aren't in the superbowl. :-(
I was NOT happy with Mr. Manning on that one.

I need to run to Walmart so I can get a couple boxes of nutri-grain bars so I can have them for classes.
Ugh...weather channel is calling for more snow Tuesday. Wonderful.
Tomorrow will be my first day of the majority of my classes and the snow isn't supposed to start until later on so I will get through those hopefully.

Okay....I forgot what I was going to type...

Paul is at work..well sort of, he went to Anthony's Pier 9 to do the Bridal show....it's from 12-5...how stupid is that? A 5 hour Bridal Show.

I went with him last year because his "boss" couldn't go, he got hurt shoveling snow and slipped a disk or something.
I went...and was pretty bored.
Although Paul is supposed to be bringing me home brochures for flowers.

Our reception is going to be at Catlin Gardens, so I know they obviously have flower arrangements there, but not for bouquets and boutonnieres.

They'll do our cake, so that's taken care of.
Already have a photographer.
A videographer.
A DJ, obviously..lol.

We still have a lot to do....I have lots of time though for the smaller stuff.
I have ideas for my dress, and the color scheme that I want, but we'll see.

Anyway, I need to get going, tomorrow will probably be a later blog, or I may not be able to blog until Tuesday.
We'll see how things go.

TGIF...Busy Busy Day, but Day 2, and Engagement Story..

Okay, so first of all, I will tell the story on how Paul and I got engaged. Before I get into it, I will give a little bit of "background info" on myself and Paul.

I am not a native of the northeastern side of the country. I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana (the cornfield state)...we didn't really get THAT much snow or anything, and I had never been to NYC until we moved when I was 12 to Dingmans Ferry, PA.

Paul, however, was born and raised in Mineola, LI then moved to Milford, PA with his family.

Okay, so this is how the story goes.
Paul and I chose the rings together. We were at the Rockaway Mall in New Jersey with a friend of ours (Vince). Paul collects movie posters (the big ones you can buy at FYE).

We went into FYE to see if they had any of the movie posters for The Dark Knight, they had two, so Paul bought both of them, one for him, one for Vince.
Well, Paul was going to take it to the framing place, to have it professionally framed in the mall.

As we were walking back, Whitehall Jewelers was on the corner and since they were going out of business, they were having some really amazing sales.

We were just looking until I found a set that I absolutely adored! It was originally like $2,100 for the set, but they were on sale for $480 and an extra 10% off.
The kicker was, the set didn't have the groom's band to match so I found a band for Paul that looked amazing with the set that I wanted..his band was originally like $800 but on sale for $280.
Both of us were pretty excited about it, but we decided that we didn't have the money right now, but would try to come back later...and it was killing me.
So Paul tried to make it up to me..and Vince..lol..by taking us to Starbucks downstairs in the mall. As Vince and I were walking, Paul randomly says, "Vince, you want me to put your poster in my car so it doesn't get wrinkled?" So of course, I know he is going to go get the rings.
I explain this to Vince because he was completely shocked that Paul was being so nice..lol

When he came back, he hugged me then told me he couldn't get the rings because they didn't accept checks. I was definitely bummed.
We went home, I was a little upset, but I was trying to seem upbeat about the whole thing.

Needless to say (I didn't find out this next part until after he proposed), the next day I had an 8a.m. class and 3 others after until 1:30 in the afternoon.
When Paul woke up, he talked to my parents to see if they wanted to go with him to pick up the rings.
He got up, showered, got dressed, drove back to Rockaway, bought the rings, came back, put on his pj's, scruffed himself up, so that way when I got home it had seemed like he hadn't done anything all day (Mind you, he does work, he is a wedding DJ, so he only works on the weekends).

So I had no idea he bought the rings.
A few months roll by, and my friend Heather knew, so every time we would go to the mall together we would get jewelry magazines and would flaunt the $10,000 wedding sets to Paul to make fun of him. Of course, I didn't know..lol.

Around Nov. 9th, Paul had brought up a trip to NYC, the plans fell through because of crappy weather, so we planned for another time. We had decided to go on November 18th instead.
It was nice...but freezing!

We first decided to go to the Central Park Zoo because I had never been there before, and that was amazing in itself. Then after we got lunch, we went on the horse and buggy ride through central park.
After that, we had Starbucks (Mmm hot chocolate!).
Then we started walking to the Empire State Building where Paul has never been...he was there, but never been to the top (86th floor).
We get to the top and it was FREEZING..the wind was horrible..lol..Needless to say at that point, we walked around, took a few pictures, and that was that.

So we decided that it was then time to take another hot chocolate break. Now, I don't know what I did, but I must have pulled a muscle in my back, so my back was hurting the entire day. I couldn't sit comfortably at all.
At our second trip to Starbucks, Paul had tossed the idea at me of ice skating..I said I wasn't up to it, seeing as how I had never ice skated before...because in Indiana we don't do it..lol.
I didn't want to fall and deal with more pain.

Especially because later on that evening we were supposed to meet my parents at the Plaza for dinner (they work on Wallstreet).

So Paul and I decided to kill time by going into the little mall that is right next to the ice rink. We went to Auntie Anne's for pretzels and sat down in their little food court when my cell phone rang.
It was mom.
She called and did the same old small talk before something big comes up....
She asks," So are you guys going to go ice skating?"
I said, "No, I pulled a muscle in my back and it's killing me, last thing I want to do is fall on a hard sheet of ice."
She blows up. "Kristin, he has done everything for you today, I think that you should just humor him and ice skate if that is what he wants to do."

Red Flag.

It just got to the point where I didn't want to argue anymore, but at this point I'm sitting there thinking: When has my mother ever made me do something that could involve me possibly breaking a bone?

So I get frustrated and get off the phone with her, and I look at Paul and say, you know what, if you want to ice skate, we'll go ice skating.

Paul tries to be the gentle nice person: Noo, if you aren't feeling up to it...

And I cut him off..lol.
Paul, I said we will go ice skating.

So we go rent the skates and I realize I have an hour to kill before we meet my parents...I'm thinking, Dear God I am going to die on these things.

I make it out onto the ice and I am scared to death! I was holding on to the wall, I almost slip and take out Paul's thigh with the ice skates...I am a disaster with blades on my feet.
My feet were hurting, and I'm scooting across the ice, and after like 2 times around the rink, I need a break.
It took me 20 minutes for 2 laps. It was sad.
I'm sitting there trying to kill time until my parents get there.
2 more mintues...2 more minutes..I keep telling Paul.
Finally it is about 15 minutes until my parents get there, so I go back out on the ice so they can see me ice scooting and I make one full lap, then I see my parents and plan on doing one more.
Paul stops me at Center Ice right in front of where the Christmas tree was being put up.

He tells me that since I have made so many sacrifices for him not just today but in our relationship, he thinks that he owes one to me, and he pulled out the box with the ring in it.
He opened the box, got on his knee...by this time I'm crying 60% because my feet are killing me and 40% out of excitement...and he asks will you marry me, and of course, I said yes.

He put the ring on my finger we hug and kiss, while I'm still holding on to the banister...and it shows.
He said the kicker is, you have to skate the rest of the way around the ice rink to go get your skates off...and I call him an asshole.

I get to the exit and my mom is crying and asking if I'm happy and all I can think of to say is...It'll be better when I get these damn things off!

As we're walking to get on the ferry to Jersey, Paul looks at me and says, and I don't care if you ever put on a pair of ice skates again...
And I stop in the middle of the sidewalk and practically yell, Are you serious?!?
That was the icing on the cake.

So there is the story.

NOW, as for today, I haven't really eaten much...I haven't really been that hungry...

Breakfast:
1 packet of Weight Control Oatmeal : 130 cal

No Snack

Lunch: Probably Saladworks in the mall.

Snack: M&Ms: 10...:42 cal I think it is.

Dinner: Up in the air...We're going to a friend's house since Paul has a wedding consultation at 6 tonight.

Okay I need to go get ready.
Hope you enjoyed the story!!

Just cuz I like to share...

I am posting the pictures my mom took when my fi (Paul) proposed to me.
He did it in Rockafeller Plaza in NYC on the Ice Rink.
If you want to know the full story, just ask..it's kinda long, but a good one. =)
Here they are....

Day 1 and a half.

I say 1 and a half because yesterday I didn't really get in an "orthodox" work-out...
I live in NE Pennsylvania, so we were hit with the snow and ice.

Needless to say, since I have been going almost...crazy with yoga (Yes, I love yoga THAT much =)!) my lower body was killing me...in a good way.
So I decided to make Wednesday my "day off" so to speak, but I didn't get off so easy. I ended up helping my fi shovel the immensely long driveway, and also my neighbor's driveway, so my upper body got a good work out yesterday.

THEN, as fate would have it, that time of the month happened to roll in last night. Wonderful, right? So I have snuck a few "hate foods" today.
I do plan on working out, because I have found that getting your body moving actually helps with cramps and discomfort.

So that way, I'm not completely jeopardizing the work I have done so far...Not so much in the ways of losing the weight, but the inches...both my fi and I have noticed =).

So I haven't really eaten a lot today...which is almost weird considering Aunt Flow.

I only had:

B: 2 packets of Quaker Oatmeal: 130 calories
Milk: 65 calories

S: M&M's: 10 (just to get rid of the sweet tooth): 43

L: Mac n Cheese: 2.6 calories (which was hard to believe)

And I think I am making something really light for dinner...I'm not a hundred percent sure what it is yet, but so it's out there...I'm trying to keep at about 2100 calories a day, working out 4-5 times a week. With the Happy Weight link that was in a poster on theknot.com, it would bring me down to about 145lbs...Which I would be eternally greatful with.
Needless to say, it's 4:20 p.m. I am going to relax for a little bit with my fi, and make dinner.

First blog...

Okay, so I'm writing about my health...I guess the best place to start would be telling my situation. I am 20 years old (subject to change as of September 11th, 2009).
I have always been deemed as an athlete, I started playing sports around 4-5 years old. I played Boosters Basketball in elementary school, along with little league softball. I was a pitcher and was pretty damn good at it. I was 12 years old easily pitching about 60 mph. Basketball I was always good at as well.
I played both sports all through High School, broke a few records here and there, and was doing well.
About my sophomore year, I had rolled both of my ankles, and found out that I had more damage done then I thought. I was told that I shouldn't be playing anymore.
I still did, did more damage to my ankles, strained my ACL to the point it was shredding, I tore my rotator cuff apart, and graduated from High School still willing to play college ball.
Due to a few sweet words from a Community College coach, I started attending a community college, played one year of basketball there..planned on playing softball until an awkward turn of events happened.
I realized that I didn't want to continue putting my body through the pain when I was in the middle of a game, and my right calf completely cramped up...I kept playing, putting more weight on my left, until my left started cramping as well...
I was looking a little awkward while running with a double charlie horse, as I'm looking at my fi in the stands, he could tell something was wrong.
My coach on the other hand, was telling me to move faster,
The trainer finally yelled at the coach, I came out, the damage was done, I strained both of my calf muscles in both of my legs.

My coach would not leave me alone about it...and I could barely walk for about 10 days.

I talked with my fi and told him that this wasn't worth it anymore. The everyday ankle and shoulder pain just wasn't worth it.
I didn't want to have to be in an immense amount of pain if I ever wanted kids...and I do.

So after the season was over, the coach quit, a new one came in, and started calling me..I repeatedly told him No...and that was the end of my athletic career.

Needless to say, I don't really miss sports, I miss the shape I was in, but it wasn't worth the pain I was in.

At the peak of my career, I was 130lbs. Since then I have gained quite a bit of weight.
At the peak of my unhealthiness, I weighed 200lbs.

Now, I am at 190, working at making it to at least 150.

I have a year and a half to go, so I'm not TOO worried, but I definitely need the motivation!
So, here it goes....
